GPON ONU and OLT SFP Modules – Ingellen

GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Networks) is the leading technology used in FTTx (FTTH) deployments. Unlike point to point optical network topology, PON is different than in that it is a Point to Multi-Point (P2MP) topology. A PON consists of an Optical Line Termination (OLT) on the provider's side and one or many Optical Network Units (ONU) on the users' side. From the Central Office’s?(CO) OLT with GPON OLT SPT transceiver, a single strand of fiber goes out to a passive optical splitter where its signal is multiplied to 64 (128) different lines. The Transmit and Receive signals operate on different wavelengths allowing bi-directional operation over a single fiber. Anything transmitted from the OLT is transmitted to all 32 lines. It is up to the customer’s system ONU to determine what packets are for that customer. The PON current standards have defined downstream data rates up to 2.5Gbps.

GPON OUN SFP
GPON OUN SFP 20 Km is a small form-factor pluggable module used for the ONU of GPON with 2.5Gbps in downstream and 1.25Gbps in upstream. It is high performance module for single fiber communications by using 1310nm burst-mode transmitter and 1490 nm continuous-mode receiver.
